about 15 million years ago there was an explosion that started the universe the explosion was know as the BIG BANG consisted of an explosion within its self and it keeps expanding but there is an end to it.Edwin hubble discovered the distance from far away galaxies and the hubble law was named after him the observations he made supported the expansion of the universe and suggested that it was once compacted . The main event of the big bang theory was when everything started to form or shape like galaxies started forming and stars,planets and solar systems,groups of clusters and superclusters and everything else that we dont know.Discovery if the big bang was made 1929, they came up with this conclusion because when Edwin Hubble looked at the universe with a telescope that was good enough to see that far an see that the big bang was moving away from everything else, so as the universe was expanding it was taking galaxies along with it.Thats how they new that it was a big bang thats steel exploding.
